100 yearsFOR 100 YEARS...
… we are a Protestant free church in Hamburg and are journeying together – to encounter God, to live in His power and to serve with joy. Lively services for children, young people and adults, small groups offering genuine fellowship and relationships – in places where we share our lives with others and are there for one another. By the way, what we are NOT: a cult! As a church, we are affiliated with the BfP (Federation of Free Pentecostal Churches) and we work closely and amicably with many other churches and organisations, for example within the Evangelical Alliance and ‘Gemeinsam für Hamburg’ – a network comprising over 80 congregations and 50 Christian organisations in Hamburg.

As Elim, we want to build a culture that honours Jesus and attracts people. This culture does not come about by chance. We invite you to play an active part in shaping this culture. Values are the most powerful force for creating culture. The Elim values express the very essence of who we are: what is in our hearts determines how we act!

How we are funded
As a Protestant free church, we have made a conscious decision to forgo all income from church tax and fund our entire work exclusively through voluntary donations. For we are convinced that those who give voluntarily do so willingly.
Let each person do as they have decided in their heart! (2 Corinthians 9:7)
That’s often how it is in life, too. Things that are of value to us are worth the cost. And after all, there is a very special blessing in giving. God has promised His blessing in various ways to those who give freely and generously.
Paul says to the Corinthians, for example:
A gift given willingly is pleasing to God (2 Corinthians 8:12)
He wants to open the windows of heaven and pour out blessings in abundance (Malachi 3:10). Much of what we experience in our church brings this testimony to life time and again, making it more relevant than ever!

We are part of ‘Gemeinsam für Hamburg’: this network brings together over 80 parishes and 50 Christian organisations in our city. It is a unity in diversity that we wish to promote and help shape.
